PSI Affiliates Warn of Escalating Health and Care Workforce Migration Crisis in Africa

Unions in Ghana and Nigeria called on African governments to increase investment in the public healthcare system. With a density of 1 health worker per 5,707 and 1.83 per 1,000 people Ghana and Nigeria - far below the benchmark of 4.45 per 1,000, unions called on African governments to urgently recommit to the Abuja Declaration by allocating at least 15% of national budgets to health.
