The West Africa Health Sector Unions Network (WAHSUN) has scheduled a conference for 20-21 April 2022 on the theme "The Covid-19 Pandemic: Lessons for the Future".
The West Africa Health Sector Unions Network (WAHSUN) held its bi-annual meeting in Abuja, Nigeria from 20-21 April 2022 on the theme "The Covid-19 Pandemic: Lessons for the Future".
This was the first face-to-face meeting of WAHSUN since the Covid-19 pandemic. WAHSUN member unions from Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Niger and Sierra Leone participated.
The in-session meeting looked at specific issues concerning the network, including the network's lobbying and advocacy work and its growth. There was a panel discussion on "Vaccine access in the region and the EU-AU meeting in Brussels".
Representatives from OTUWA and the Solidarity Center were also present, as well as PSI Vice President, Brother Peters Adeyemi and the Nigerian Labour Congress, Brother Ayuba WABBA.

The 21st Bi-Annual Plenary Session of the West African Health Sector Unions’ Network (WAHSUN) was held on 20th - 21st April 2022, at the Denis Hotel in Abuja, Nigeria, under the theme “The Covid-19 Pandemic: Lessons for the Future”. Delegates of health sector unions from Togo, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia, Niger, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone participated.
