The project planning, advocacy event and organizing workshop on unions defending human rights, climate justice and quality public services for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Nigeria will be taking place from 7-10 May 2024 in Abuja, Nigeria.
The project planning, advocacy event and organizing workshop on unions defending human rights, climate justice and quality public services for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Nigeria will be taking place from 7-10 May 2024 in Abuja, Nigeria.
The project seeks to strengthen the role and capacity of public service workers in addressing internal displacement from the perspective of human and labour rights, climate justice and access to quality public services. Partners in the project are the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN) and the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporation, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE), with focus on Borno state, which has the highest concentration of IDPs, Yobe, Kaduna and Bayelsa states. The project is implemented in partnership with PSI Swedish affiliate, ASSR, and Union to Union, Sweden.
The 4-day project activity will be organised on the following agenda:
Project Orientation and Strategic Organizing Workshop – 7th -8th May
National Advocacy Event and Launch of the PSI Participatory Research Report – 9th May
Visit to the IDP Camp – 10th May
Project Planning Meeting – 10th May
