The central idea is to continue the work that PSI has been developing around gender-transformative public services, especially on the rebuilding of the social organization of care at the global level.

PSI has produced a global study, which launches the basis for a new conceptual analysis of the idea of care, moving from an economic analysis to an analysis of care as a public good – endorsed by the Manifesto. In addition, we are producing two regional studies with case studies of national and local governments that have implemented gender-oriented public policies for care work. These case studies are on: Mexico, Costa Rica, Bogota City, Ecuador, Chile, Uruguay and Argentina.

Thus, our objective in the webinar is to deepen the training on the social organization of care with our affiliates and allied civil society organizations (CSOs), give momentum to this agenda, and listen to the voices of organizations allied in this struggle. We will present the 7 case studies of national/local governments that have implemented public policies for care; and with allied CSOs, analyze them and point out what must be done to rebuild the social organization of care, deepen the training on the subject with our affiliates allies.

The event will have as its main audience PSI Interamerica affiliates and Latin American civil society organizations and will have English, Spanish and Portuguese interpretation.
