PSI-Africa is holding an online workshop called "Local Vaccine Production in Africa: What Role for the Public?" with health and social care affiliates from across the continent on 17th August 2022 from 1100 to 1500, South African time.

The workshop will present experts’ views on local pharmaceuticals production in Africa and explore the role of the state in its promotion. The workshop will also provide affiliates with updates of key developments relating to global health negotiations and rules regarding the TRIPS Waiver that was proposed by South Africa and India. The African unions are therefore expected to lobby and advocate for public-led local production of vaccines and medicines.
