The privatization of social services turns against Cifuentes

Budget cuts and underfunding in recent years are undermining the privatization model of social service delivery in Cifuentes, since some companies are staying away from the bidding process, leaving the public service in the lurch. But remunicipalization has also been blocked. “Since 2015, several local and regional administrations are trying, not without difficulties, to recover the direct management of services in areas such as health or water supply. [But] the resistance of the central government and the concessionaires to reversing the privatizations have led these plans to the courts, which are beginning to support these reversals.”
