The governor of Querétaro was run off the stage at a May Day event by public services workers. “Municipal garbage workers, protesting the privatization of the service, also participated in the demonstration, while teachers expressed their opposition to education reforms and the dismissal of teachers who had failed evaluation tests. Governor Domínguez Servién told a press conference later he had instructed his cabinet members to open a dialogue with those workers who had legitimate demands.”
