Global Remunicipalisation Survey

As part of its work on “remunicipalisation” – a term that is increasingly used worldwide to indicate the return of privatised assets and services to public ownership after privatisation - PSI is cooperating with the University of Glasgow on a research study to find new remunicipalisation cases worldwide, track and analyse them including from a trade union perspective.

The study is part of a 5-year European Research Council project 'Global Remunicipalisation' running from January 2019 - December 2024.

Thanks to the grant the survey and its follow-up have been translated into 6 languages and will stay open for 2 years, which allows for meaningful participation, although you are strongly encouraged to participate as soon as possible.

Please disseminate widely among your union staff and members who may have been involved in a remunicipalisation and encourage their participation.

The survey takes approximately 25 minutes to complete, please click on the link in the language of your choice:

Participation is voluntary and participants are free to withdraw at any time. The supplied information will be treated as confidential and kept in secure storage in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulations. Participants can request to receive a written summary of our results or final outputs (e.g. journal articles) at any time.

Please contact daria.cibrario@world-psi.org should you have any questions.

This is a major opportunity for PSI to advance knowledge and advocacy over remunicipalisation as well as on the emerging models of a new generation of public services that work for people and workers, and are democratic and accountable.
