Spotlight Report 2018 - Geneva launch

“The world is off-track in terms of achieving sustainable development and fundamental policy changes are necessary to unleash the transformative potential of the SDGs.” Global coalition of civil society organizations and trade unions launches comprehensive independent assessment of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.

Finance got bailed out, we got sold out.

After the crash, governments bailed out the banks but didn’t fix them. Finance has refused to change its ways. The people – and our public services – have paid the price. Across regions, citizens will be participating in a day of action, starting on September 15th – the 10 year anniversary of the collapse of the US investment bank Lehman Brothers and the start of the crisis.

Spotlight on Sustainable Development Report: Geneva Launch

Join UNRISD and FES for the Geneva launch of the Spotlight on Sustainable Development 2017 report, produced by a global coalition of civil society organizations and trade unions. Carrying the subtitle "Reclaiming policies for the public. Privatization, partnerships, corporate capture and their impact on sustainability and inequality - assessments and alternatives", the civil society "shadow" report provides a wide-ranging independent assessment of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals. At the event, contributors will present and discuss key findings and recommendations of this year's report.

Taking Back Control: A Community Response to Privatisation

We'll be launching the report from our People's Inquiry Into Privatisation - Taking Back Control: A Community Response to Privatisation, and we want to start the conversation about how we fight for the alternative. Places at this event are strictly limited, so RSVP here to secure your place: http://www.peoplesinquiry.org.au/report_launch If you can't join us in person, we will be broadcasting on Facebook Live from 6.15pm (EDT), with the launch to kick off at 6.30pm!
